Evolving football team assembled!
After the summer Euros with no England Team to shout about, the Evolving team watched closely as the tournament delivered a feast of skillful football.
The Dutch demonstrated that total football is not just a thing of the past and the Russians came out of the cold and played some great counterattacking football in fits and starts. Finally the Spanish delivered on the big stage, showing the passing style of Barcelona and Madrid can cross over to International football.
With all the knowledge we had gained from studying the beautiful game, the Evolving Boys decided to embark on our own football journey... down the road to the local sports hall for a bit of five a side.
The challengers we faced were a team from our clients Wells & Young's; with no previous encounters on the field they were an unknown quantity. After unveiling the new kits we designed and printed for the match, we took this pic and then took to the field.
The match was frantic early on, with both sides looking to dominate the early exchanges but both sides proved a little ring rusty from the summer. Evolving’s few kickabouts in the weeks beforehand did prove important, but it did not take its early chances and the game developed into a nail biting cup tie with the lead changing hands on several occasions.
With rolling subs ensuring everyone got a run out and also a breather, both teams eventually started to play some nice incisive football and the game eventually settled with Evolving coming out on top. :)
The missed chances, heavy tackles and great goals were discussed at length over post-match drinks and a re-match is coming soon. We will keep you posted!
