Evolving Wins TWO Webby Awards

Winning Best Website is a great credit to the team, and the client, who worked so hard making sure we delivered something a bit special. From the design team, through the client services and project teams to the development team and the sys admins, winning a Webby is an achievement we can really all be proud of.

Winning the People's Choice is, however, more of a credit to our social media clout as we had a couple of weeks to create a sufficient amount of buzz on twitter, facebook, and email, encouraging people (and even our mums and aunts) to vote. There were 1,000,000 votes in the end, we had to fend of some stiff competition to win (to whom we doff a humble cap).

So anyway, how do you Win a Webby?

• First off, get yourself a cool client. Its important to work with one who has great ideas and has faith in your skills to run with your great ideas too.
• Secondly, love the brand. Put together a team of designers, developers and account managers and get them into the client's proposition.
• Thirdly, listen to the users. Study the metrics and understand what your users are doing and how you can guide them to engaging more with the brand and its products.
• Lastly, use social media. Work with the client on positioning email, tweets and using their facebook profiles to engage the users to use the site and come back for more.

OK, so now we're off to New York and its time to get our heads down and think about our five-word speech :)
